This is an awesome mix. I used this and followed the Bearded Butcher’s video to make venison “bacon” and it turned out just great! I used this maple mix as the base flavor and split the batch in half coating one half with a mix of the Meat Church Texas Sugar and Honey Bacon BBQ Rub and the other half with Traeger’s Coffee Rub. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. There’s just enough maple flavor to give it that classic sweet maple taste without overpowering any other seasonings or flavors. If you like a real strong maple flavor, I’d cut the batch back by a few pounds or just add more. I don’t think you can go wrong either way.
